Satin has two sides that share one engine. People use the Chrome extension; product teams build OwnUX into their own product with the SDK. Both follow the same open specification.
- One Interface DNA, read the same by extension and SDK
- An engine safety fix lands on both sides at once
- The original app stays in charge of data and permissions
Satin for People
In developmentYour OwnUX, in the work apps you already use.
- A clean Today, Next and Blocked view in Personal mode
- Every change read back from the app before it says done
- Free for two supported apps, at planned launch pricing
Some answers are always no. Design rules, not settings. They hold on every plan, in every app.
Never on banking or payment pages. The extension doesn’t run there, and never carries out banking or trading transactions.
Never reads passwords or card details. Password fields and payment-card contents are never captured, on any site.
Never uploads your work. Task titles, descriptions and comments stay on your device. Satin’s servers don’t receive them.
Never acts on its own. No autonomous actions, no AI-generated code in pages. Every change is one you asked for.
Never watches in secret. No page recording, keylogging or browsing-history collection. Satin is visibly on, or it’s off.
Never sells your data. Individual data is never sold or shared with vendors. Products see only preferences you share.

The words we use. Eight terms that come up in almost every answer, defined once.
- Satin
- The company and its products: Satin for People, the Chrome extension, and Satin for Products, the OwnUX SDK.
- OwnUX
- The technology and open specification that lets people set how software looks and works for them. Started by the Satin team in 2026; anyone can implement it.
- Interface DNA
- Your preference profile: layout, density, labels, interaction style, guidance and accessibility. Inspectable, portable and yours.
- Verified action
- A change made through the app’s official channel, then read back from the app to confirm it, before Satin says it’s done.
- Native view
- The original app’s own interface. Always one action away, and where Satin returns you if anything stops matching.
- OwnUX Ready
- The planned badge for products that pass conformance at level L2 or above. It will always state its level.
- DNA Share
- Choosing to share selected parts of your Interface DNA with a product that supports OwnUX. Scoped and revocable.
- Adapted user
- The billing unit for products: a person who sees at least one OwnUX surface in a calendar month.
