Satin for People
Make the apps you already use feel like yours. A Chrome extension that shapes Jira around how you work.

Off. Turning it on asks Chrome for this one site, nothing else.
Mode
Your task-first view over the page. Needs Jira sign-in.
Touring the popup. Click anything to take over.
For people in tools they didn’t choose. Satin gives you one task-first way to do the same few jobs.
Arjun
Engineer in three client trackers
Wants one way of working across tools he doesn’t control.
Priya
Designer pulled into engineering
Needs a focused Today and a clear review list, not a board full of other people’s fields.
Sam
New joiner, in week one
Is learning a new tool and new statuses. He’d rather keep the habits that already work.
Rahi
Product manager, keyboard-first
Needs density, contrast and keyboard control that defaults don’t give. Core accessibility is never paywalled.
Example profiles Illustrative people, not customers. Satin has no customers yet.
How it works. Four steps, each your choice. The original page stays one click away.
- 1
Add Satin to Chrome
It asks for no website access at install. Nothing runs until you turn it on.
- 2
Set your Interface DNA
About two minutes, and optional. Skip it and decide later.
- 3
Allow one Jira site
Click Satin on a Jira Cloud page and allow that site. Turn it off any time.
- 4
Connect through Jira’s API
Sign in on Atlassian’s consent screen. Satin reads and changes tasks only through Jira’s official API.
Personal mode, over the page. Satin’s own view, drawn on top of Jira. The Jira page stays untouched underneath.
The original, one click away. A switch or keyboard shortcut puts you back in Jira exactly where you were.
Interface DNA
Two minutes, once. Five short questions, in development, will shape every screen Satin draws for you.
Your answers become your Interface DNA: a small preference profile you can read, change and export. Leave any answer as it is, or skip setup altogether.
- Layout, spacing, text size, contrast and motion, and words
- Stored on your device; opt-in sync is planned
- Plain words are optional; Jira’s own meanings are kept

Question 1 of 5
How would you like your tasks laid out?
A list gives each task a row. A board puts each group in a column. A table lines up the details.

Blocked
Sample tasks as a list, with balanced spacing, text at 100% and standard words.
Supported apps, honestly. Satin works only where it’s built and tested. Each app shows its status.
Jira Cloud
In developmentPersonal mode on Jira Cloud is being built now, for the five core tasks.
- View my tasks, find a task
- Change status, due date and assignee
- Every change read back from Jira
- Certified only once it passes the beta gate
Adapter status
- CertifiedGoalOfficial API, every acceptance test passing, nightly contract tests green.
- LimitedRead-only, or only some actions.
- ExperimentalTodayIn testing, and clearly labelled as such.
- UnsupportedSatin stays off. You use the original app.
Satin names other companies’ apps only to say it works with them. It isn’t affiliated with Atlassian, Linear or Asana.
Two modes. One draws Satin’s view over the page. The other, planned, restyles the page lightly.
Personal mode
Being built nowSatin’s task-first view, drawn over the page from Jira’s official API: Today, Next, Blocked, find, task detail and quick changes.
- Needs
- This site, and Jira sign-in
- Changes your data
- Only what you ask, read back from Jira
- The page underneath
- Untouched
Familiar mode
Planned for a later phaseThe original page, a little easier to use: density, contrast, label hints and keyboard shortcuts. Presentation only.
- Needs
- This site only; no sign-in
- Changes your data
- Never
- The page underneath
- Restyled lightly; steps aside if it changes
Private by design. Satin changes how your tools look and work, never who owns your work.
One site at a time. You allow each site. Removing it in Chrome turns Satin off and forgets the sign-in.
Your work stays in your browser. Tasks go from Jira’s API to your browser. Titles, descriptions and comments never reach Satin’s servers.
Sign-in, locked away. Your Jira sign-in is encrypted in the extension, out of reach of websites.
A helper that keeps nothing. A small helper adds the secret Jira requires at sign-in. It stores and logs nothing.
Text only, never code. Everything shows as plain text, so titles can’t run code. Satin reads only the page address.
Never on sensitive pages. Satin never runs on banking or payment pages, and never reads password or card fields.
Planned pricing. Free keeps the core promise. Pro adds breadth for people across many tools.
