Terms of Service. The terms for using Satin during the private beta.
Last updated: 25 October 2026
In plain words
- Satin is in private beta: invite-only, for people 18 and over, and free while the beta lasts.
- It’s still being built, so things may change, and it comes with no uptime promise.
- Satin acts in your apps only with your permission, but you stay responsible for your accounts.
- Use it fairly. You can stop any time and ask us to delete your data.
01Who we are and what these terms cover
Satin is operated by Pranav Goswami, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. We’re setting up an Indian private limited company to run Satin; once it’s registered, these terms will name it. “Satin”, “we” and “us” mean the operator.
These terms cover the Satin website, the private-beta login, the Satin Chrome extension (Satin for People) and the developer portal (Satin for Products). By using any of them, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.
02Who can use Satin
- Satin is in private beta. You can use it only if we’ve invited you, using the email address we invited.
- You must be 18 or older.
- You log in with your Google account. One account per person: don’t share it.
- If you use Satin for your employer or a client, make sure you’re allowed to use it with their tools.
03Your account
Keep your Google account secure, because it’s how you get into Satin. If you think someone else has used your access, tell us straight away at [email protected], and we’ll help.
04The private beta
- Satin is free during the private beta.
- It’s still being built. Features may change, pause or stop, and some things may not work as described yet.
- We provide it “as is”, with no promise that it will always be available or error-free.
- If we plan to charge after the beta, we’ll tell you first, and you can choose whether to continue.
05What the extension does, and your part
The extension works in supported apps, today Jira Cloud and Linear, and only on sites you turn it on for. It reads and changes your tasks through each app’s official API, with your permission. Every change is one you asked for, and Satin checks it with the app before saying it’s done. If it can’t confirm a change, it tells you.
You stay responsible for what happens in your accounts in those apps, including changes made through Satin. If something looks wrong, the original app is always one click away.
06Other companies’ services
Satin works with services run by other companies, such as Jira (Atlassian), Linear and Google sign-in. Their own terms and policies still apply when you use them, and we’re not responsible for how they work.
07Using Satin fairly
Please don’t:
- attack, overload or try to break into Satin, or get around its security or access checks,
- reverse engineer Satin to abuse it, or to copy it for a competing service,
- use Satin to break the law or anyone else’s rights, or another app’s terms,
- share your access, or resell Satin.
Satin runs only on the supported apps, so it can’t run on banking or payment pages. Please don’t try to make it.
Found a security problem? Tell us at [email protected]. We’re grateful for responsible reports.
08Your content and data
Your tasks and work stay yours, and they never reach Satin’s servers. Your preferences are yours too. Our Privacy Policy explains what we keep, why, and how to have it deleted.
09Who owns what
Satin owns the Satin software, website, name and logo. Using Satin doesn’t give you ownership of them.
The OwnUX Specification is open: its text is licensed under CC BY 4.0 and its reference code under Apache 2.0. Those licences, not these terms, cover how you may use them.
10Feedback
We’d love your feedback. If you send ideas or suggestions, you let us use them to improve Satin, without owing you anything for them. We won’t name you without asking.
11Ending your use
You can stop using Satin at any time: remove the extension, and email [email protected] to have your data deleted. In the extension, “Delete everything” clears what it stored on your computer.
We can end or pause your access if you break these terms, if your use puts Satin or other people at risk, or when the private beta ends. Where we can, we’ll tell you first.
12Our responsibility to you
We work hard to make Satin safe and reliable, but it’s a beta. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you’ve paid us for Satin in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
13Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Satin grows. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top, and if a change matters we’ll tell you by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Satin after that, the new terms apply.
14Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please email [email protected] first, and we’ll try to sort it out together. Any dispute we can’t resolve goes to the courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
